Chinese Vase with Lantern Flowers
This is another entry in Wetcanvas WDE event for May 9th hosted by Mary aka Missswiss.
I really loved this reference and took it to my weekly workshop class.
Oils on cardboard 47 x 32 cm Used brushes palette knife and sandpaper for texture effects.
Took some progress shots.
The final background is much lighter .. I may tweak the table to ground the vase. The vase seems to be flouting.. Thinking of bringing back some of the darks.

Statue not right!!!
Statue fixed and colors tweaked
First thought was to use crayons as under-painting.. used medium on the surface but then decided to stop... always a difficult decision... Enjoyed working on the oil background... but may tweak!!!

Daily Paintings February # 31
Daily Paintings February # 31
Ok... so what's with the 31... well 31 follows 30 and since I did 30 daily paintings in January I am continuing the numbering pattern....too 120 and counting. I did try doing 120 paintings from the result of a webinar with Larry Seiler at wetcanvas.. but somewhere along the way ...need we say more!!! Decided this month to do more glass....until I get bored...the numbering will be only for the daily paintings and not my on going work that I do at my weekly workshop. The reference is from WDE events at wetcanvas...
23 x 29 cm oils on gessoed corrugated cardboard. I toned the canvas with a very dark grey green...done with a palette knife.
Would love feedback and constructive criticism....!!!!

Day 29 30 in 30 Challenge
Leslie's 30 in 30 Challenge
17.5 x 25 cm
Oils on gessoed cardboard
Little blue bottle... though I would do a simple subject... simple it wasn't Photo reference from Wetcanvas Image Library... Can't believe that its already 29 days.... one more on the burner....
This has been an exciting experience... very positive, has helped me in my self confidence...Got a lot of palette knife time which is important... learned to regulate my time better... and I hope improved my painting... I am off to the goal of 120!!! I took a course with Larry Seiler at wetcanvas about 120 paintings... had started but some it didn't stick I hope this month proves that I CAN.. maybe not every day but almost....
