My concept is very simple.... cars and bikes are usually decorated with flags so painted from a photo of my grandsons riding on their bikes...added on the flags....
We bought Uri.3, a strider wooden bike a yr ago and he just now can reach the ground on it...
oil pastels on A4 watercolor paper
Noam,7, riding his two wheeler.... this is my first attempt with gouache..... really way out of my comfort zone!!! Have put this up on wetcanvas forum.. so may tweak from some suggestions!!!!
next challenge is TAXI for the 22 Nd

Carol, I'm so glad you visited my blog, because that caused me to find your blog, and I'm so glad to find your blog. I have read the whole thing and look forward to reading more and keeping up with what you are doing. I love these little bicycle riders--so precious! I am interested in ultimately painting people--the still lifes are to help me learn to paint better. I adore these little guys you have done.

Beautiful paintings! I love the lively sense of motion and the way you captured the different textures of rippling flags, soft young bodies and rigid metal conveyances. You've got a wonderful sense of volume in both of them and good balance. Proportions on both children are true and more than that, their gestures natural and effective.
Thanks Meredith for your kind words.
These are my 2 youngest grandsons...
Thanks Ruthie!!!!
Thanks Robert... appreciate your feedback.... am so new to gouache...its really strange after oils and oil pastel which are more fluid... waiting for Larry's webinar on gouache... will try some more.... love painting kids...
Really tried to create a sense of motion but wasn't sure I carried it off..Got good feedback at critique today...
